24/08/2018 - Impact Project Reflection
Today we cut the two claw pieces and sanded them so they were the same size. We found out that the triangle we cut a while ago for the two claw pieces was too small, so we made it bigger and made sure that the claw pieces would fit. We cut a small spacer for the upper arm so that we could attach the triangle with screws. We used the sanding belt so it was round like the lower arm and we used sandpaper to sand the final touches. Next week we need to screw the spacer and triangle onto the arm and figure out how we are going to attach the claw pieces. We also need to start working with the syringes again so we can perfect them when we put them on the arm. We need to make sure we put it on correctly and fill it correctly.
From what we have done so far, we have found that we need to take our time and really think about what we are doing. The hydraulic arm is quite technical, and it would only take a small mistake to ruin it. For this reason, we will really take our time with the technical parts of it, and make sure we get everything right. We will always double-check our measurements, and constantly test to see how it works throughout the process.
